Major housing developments

 


Baillieston Broomhouse Carmyle Community Growth Area, instructed jointly by Elphinstone Land, Miller Homes, AS Homes, Stewart Milne Homes and Glasgow City Council.  John led a team assessing environmental constraints, presenting strategic masterplan options, then preparing a materplan and design guidance for housing development in this area.  This included extensive community and stakeholder consultation and the preparation of documents which enabled Glasgow City to adopt the masterplan as Supplementary Planning Guidance.

Planning advice to the “Glasgow Harbour” project for Clydeport plc.  This key role included strategic advice, working with the architects and project team on the masterplan, co-ordinating the EIA and its process to approval, and community consultation.  John prepared, submitted and achieved approval for all planning applications for the masterplan, roads and infrastructure, and phase1 housing planning applications, and obtained approval for works to listed buildings on the site.

Planning advice to the Woodilee Developers’ Consortium at Lenzie.  The clients were CALA, Miller, Redrow, Persimmon, and the Greater Glasgow Primary-Care Health Trust.  John co-ordinated the production of an Environmental Impact Analysis and submission and approval of an outline planning permission for 800 houses.

Planning advice to Park Lane Homes for its large-scale urban brown-field developments projects at Yoker, Renfrew and Larkfield, Glasgow.  Prepared a masterplan for the Yoker site.

Planning advice to Taylor Wimpey, coordinating planning submissions and negotiating consents for major developments at Bishopbriggs East; Tournament Park, Kilsyth; Millerston, Glasgow City; and Maidenhill, East Renfrewshire.

Managed the preparation and submission of the masterplan-based housing development at Renfrew North for Clydeport plc.

Promoting the allocation of land in development plans throughout West Central Scotland for a variety of housebuilders and landowners.
